VISITORS to Elmore field days will have the opportunity of laying eyes on two of the newest farm vehicles on the Australian market.

Mahindra Ag & Auto Australia plans to use the event to launch its mPact XTV side-by-side family of three and six-seaters, designed and built in the US.

Mahindra Automotive Australia marketing manager James Halliwell said the range was introduced to the company’s dealer network in May but stocks were not expected to land in Australia until mid-October.

“They were launched in the US market 18 months ago and have sold 3000 units there since,” Mr Halliwell said.

“They’ve also been available in New Zealand for about eight months.

“The two units we do have — the 750S and 1000 diesel crew-cab — will be on display at Elmore.

“We see this release as an extension of our business in tractor products and believe it will be of interest in many regional areas.

“The Flexhauler model in particular, with its aluminium drop-side tray, lends itself to a lot of applications on-farm — carrying fertiliser, for example, where people do worry about rusting of their machines over time.

“All models apart from the 750B have electric hydraulic lifts on the cargo box so you can dump the tray using a control on the dashboard.

“Most also come standard with alloy wheels, front hitch, bull bars and bump bars, which are often optional extras with our competitors.”

There are six models — the 750B, 750S, 750 FH Flexhauler and 1000 FH Flexhauler (all three-seaters), plus the 750C and 1000C as six-seaters.

The base model 750B features a Kohler 747cc petrol engine, 56km/h top speed, cargo box capacity of 544kg with gas shock lift assist a tow capacity of 952kg.

The 750S adds the alloy wheels, front hitch and electric-powered cargo box lift.

The Flexhauler is available in either 747cc petrol or 1000cc diesel configurations, fitted with a 34-litre fuel tank.

All models have standard four-wheel-drive with auto-lock front differential, 27in ATV tyres on 14in wheels, 304mm of ground clearance, welded steel chassis with independent dual A-frame suspension, CVT transmission and 260mm brake rotors and handbrake on all four wheels.

Cargo box capacity ranges from 453-544kg. Pricing starts at $16,990 (inc GST). See mahindraxtv.com.au
