KUBOTA fans are about to get the chance to check out the new range of Kubota tillage gear and the M7 tractor at the Bertoli Farm Machinery site.

The M7, the most powerful tractor range Kubota has made, might have been released a year ago but only now is it being seen on general display in Australia.

Until now, dealers have been taking a hush-hush approach, not wanting to overexcite would-be customers with a tractor they couldn’t supply.

Now M7s are heading to Australia and orders can be placed.

Not only does the M7 elevate the Kubota range, previously king of the compacts, into the mid-power level with various models all over 100hp, it also marks an entirely new manufacturing set-up for the company with tractors coming out of France rather than the US and Japan.

With most parts, such as axles, transmissions and electronics, sourced from around Europe, the hub of manufacturing for a good percentage of its competitors, Kubota is taking on a distinctly new image.

It’s not surprising Kubota dealers are anxious to get the M7s moving out their doors.

The M7 tractor is all about power and lightweight maneuverability.

Through clever design and manufacturing and a finely tuned power-to-weight ratio, this 4-cylinder tractor seems set to make its presence felt in the maneuverability stakes.

“Australian farmers want the horsepower but we don’t really want a big, cumbersome tractor,” Bertoli partner Jack Collins said.

“We need a tractor that’s going to suit a multiple of applications where size and efficiency is of great importance.

“This tractor is taking the brand from being a utility-style of tractor to a more mainstream farming tractor with big lifting and hydraulic capacity and more ranges of gearing,” Mr Collins said.

Spec-wise, the tractor is aimed at the farming professional and is powered by a next-generation 6.1 litre,
4-cylinder diesel engine with ultra-low emission technology to help protect the environment.

Like its compact cousins, the M7 is able to tackle a large range of jobs, comes with an arsenal of add-ons and is designed for the quick attachment and detachment of appliances such as front-end loaders.

Along with the M7, Bertoli Farm Machinery also has on show a range of Kubota-branded implements and machinery, such as speed discs, power harrows, mulchers, pneumatic seeders, precision planters and a zero-turn mower.

Many of these features are new to the brand, having come on board following the acquisition by Kubota several years ago of the large Swedish agricultural machinery company the Kverneland Group.
