CATTLE producers concerned about wasted time and poor flow in their stock yards may find an answer in the latest innovation from livestock handling manufacturer Arrow Farmquip.
CATTLE producers concerned about wasted time and poor flow in their stock yards may find an answer in the latest innovation from livestock handling manufacturer Arrow Farmquip.
Representatives from the Tamworth-based company will be at next week’s field days to unveil its newest release, the Q-Race. Also on display will be the Q-Catch cattle crush range, including the Bud-Flow and Q-Gate.
The Q-Race is a modular system with adjustable width settings to prevent stock turning in the race and maintain single file, regardless of size. Adjustment is made through spring-loaded latches on either side, enabling farmers to work with calves, weaners, cows and even bulls.
Marketing manager Kyleen Partridge said since its release, clients had welcomed the Q-Race as “a highly flexible solution to improve the safety and productivity of their cattle handling”.
“All of our modular components integrate easily and greatly improve safety, OH&S compliance and productivity in the core working area of your stock yards,” Ms Partridge said.
The Bud-Flow aims to leverage natural cattle behaviour to create efficient flow into the race and crush area. Available as two, three or five-section modules, the design means it can be used as a conventional force tub, with the force gate delivering optimum safety. The Q-Gate is a spring-loaded, two-way gate designed to simplify the job of sorting cattle in stockyards, as well as removing the safety hazard of leaning through rails to unlatch gates.
