Massey Ferguson has sharpened its high-horsepower tractor line-up for 2020 with the introduction of updated MF7614 and Tier 2 MF8700S models.

The 140hp MF7614 – one of the Agco brand’s strongest selling models in Australia – has ditched its 16-speed Dyna-4 transmission for the 24-speed Dyna-6 unit used in its 150hp MF7615 sibling.

Massey Ferguson said the new transmission gives operators more powershifts, better traction across a wider range of speeds and reduces fuel consumption during transport.

“Changing to the Dyna-6 from the Dyna-4 also gives you the ability to go for a 50km/h transmission, up from 40km/h,” said John Horan, Agco product manager for Massey Ferguson HHP Tractors.

“So for those doing a bit of haulage or roadworks, it’s a big, big improvement over our previous model.”

Other updates for the MF7614 include a new heavy-duty rear linkage that increases lifting capacity from 7100kg to 8300kg. It also dumps its flange axle for the MF7615’s heavy-duty 10-stud bar axle, giving operators full track adjustment and a more extensive choice of axle and tyre options.

“All of these different improvements make it a far better tractor and are beneficial for the customer,” Mr Horan said.

Changes to MF8700S models include a new platform design with a single fuel tank on the left rather than a tank per side.

The new tank is integrated with the steps to the cab and features built-in handles for easier access, plus a slick new integrated, removable toolbox.

On the now freed-up right side, operators benefit from a brand-new storage space.

“There’s a whole new compartment on the right-hand side to fit larger items, whether toolboxes, parts, bits and pieces for your implements or what not,” Mr Horan said.

“They’re small changes but big differences for the customer and how they use the tractor.”
