With great regret but much love, Bill and Judy Loader are preparing to farewell their amazing collection of historic cars, motorcycles, tractors and other agricultural relics.

Judy started her collectibles journey about 40 years ago, acquiring various odds and ends before moving to Furphy tanks and troughs, to tractors and specialised motor cars.

At the top end of their collection is a 97-year-old 1925 Morris Cowley manual automotive, which could be one of the oldest running cars in Australia.

The Morris Cowley has been “immaculately” maintained, with the historic car taking pride of place at the family’s Western District property for more than a decade.

“We are the third owners of the Morris Cowley. It would be a prize in anybody’s collection,” Bill said.

A Vintage Chrysler Tourer, Mercedes Benz 420SE and 1937 Ariel motorbike are also set to go under the hammer across the two day auction scheduled for Saturday, October 21 and Sunday, October 22.

The couple is also offering a wide range of collectable tractors including a red Massey Ferguson 135 petrol & diesel with multipower, John Deere AR135, 1951 R60, TEA 20, TED 20s Ferguson Tractors, Moline plough, Lanz Bulldog, and a Bullnose Morris Cowley.

They are also selling seven different kinds of Furphy tanks.

“We have accumulated a fair bit of rural memorabilia,” Judy said, in somewhat of an understatement.

“But unfortunately it is starting to get to the stage where we can’t look after it all. It takes a lot of time to keep their motors running and the tyres pumped up.”

On Friday, October 20 between noon and 2pm the Loaders are hosting an inspection of the items to be auctioned at 316 Ritchies Rd, Streatham, about 25km west of Skipton.

Last year the Bartsh family sold a rare Furphy tank for more than $60,000 via auction.
