Agri-Spread AS200 precision spreader range a broadacre boost
Agri-Spread’s AS2000 range, designed for broadacre operations to handle fertiliser, lime, gypsum and manure, received a warm welcome at the recent Wimmera field days.
VISITORS to last month’s Wimmera Machinery Field Days gave a warm welcome to an imported precision spreader, part of the Agri-Spread AS2000 range, and the make’s latest technological innovations.
Designed for broadacre operations to handle fertiliser, lime, gypsum and manure, the line-up includes six models with capacities of 10-22 cubic metres.
The most recent additions are the tandem-axle AS2200 and AS2220, joining the AS2100, AS2120, AS2130 and AS2150.
Manufactured in Ireland, the spreaders are distributed locally by Waringa Agriculture of Geraldton, Western Australia, operating through a network of about 40 dealer outlets nationwide. The company also handles Elmer’s Haulmaster chaser bins and transfer tracks and the Wagga Wagga-made Flip Screens throughout WA.
National sales manager Sam Abbott said the latest models, the AS2200 and AS2220, were released in Australia late last year and displayed at subsequent field days across the country.
“We showed an AS2150 model at Wimmera and received a lot of interest, particularly around the True Section Control feature now offered by Agri-Spread,” Mr Abbott said.
“Latest features include the positive drive belt system, where the belt is lugged on the underside to knock out the chance of any slippage, the inclusion of more stainless steel components and the optional Section Control.
“This has two belts instead of one with independent spinner control, meaning you can vary the width of your spread to minimise overlap, especially when coming into triangular corners in paddocks or going around rock heaps and trees.
“Tractor power requirement would depend a bit on ground conditions, but work on around 180hp (132kW) for an AS2150, climbing to 300-350hp (220-257kW) for the larger models.”
The new AS2000 series is independently certified to spread urea to 40m and lime to 15m.
Standard features in the AS2000 line-up include swinging hose-holder and lime and fertiliser discs. Options take in hydraulic folding curtains and 3m axle choice for controlled traffic.
