Agrison finally offers refund for new digger that broke down within days
An angry Agrison customer, whose broken-down brand new digger remained on his nature strip for more than 12 months, has finally been offered a full refund after The Weekly Times reported his story. Here’s how it unfolded.
AN ANGRY Agrison customer whose broken-down brand new digger has remained on his nature strip for more than 12 months has been offered a full refund by the company after The Weekly Times reported his story last week.
The beleaguered cheap Chinese machinery dealer has offered Mark Henshall a refund on his Agrison ME1000 Mini Excavator, which he spent his life savings on to start a new contracting business.
Mr Henshall bought the digger in August last year for $14,490. However, it began to fall apart soon after taking delivery before it completely broke down and he was unable to use it.
“It only lasted 30 hours before falling to bits,” he said. “The first day it turned up there was a couple of spare bolts lying on the pallet that it came on.”
In December, Agrison said it would collect the digger and have it repaired at the company’s Campbellfield headquarters.
Agrison finally agreed to pick up the digger in early January, however the driver of the truck sent to collect it refused to take the machine because he “didn’t like the look of it on the pallet – the same one it came on”.
It has remained on the pallet outside Mr Henshall’s parents home near Nyah, NSW, with no contact from Agrison until after his story appeared in The Weekly Times last week.
In an email to Mr Henshall, Agrison wrote “we understand that you are not happy with the purchase and we are sorry for that, and in good faith, we would like to offer you a refund on the machine”.
Mr Henshall said the stress from trying to resolve the issue has greatly affected his mental health and he remains wary until Agrison has refunded his money and reclaimed the dodgy digger.
