Sunshine Coast identical twin mums give birth on the same day
Identical twin mums never expected to have their babies born on the same day, but they both welcomed their newborns only 22 minutes apart.
Cousins born to identical twin mothers will share the same birthday for the rest of their lives after a heartwarming double birth.
The identical twin mums from the Sunshine Coast never expected to have their babies born on the same day, but that’s just what’s unfolded in heartwarming scenes.
Nicole and Renee Baillie were due to give birth ten days apart, but both spontaneously gave birth early on Thursday morning, only 22 minutes apart.
“We magically fell pregnant at the same time which was crazy, it was just meant to be,” Nicole Baillie said.
“We’ve been hanging out on maternity leave the past two or three weeks, just nesting and waiting, thinking I was going to go at least a week before because our due date was ten days apart, but now she actually beat me by 22 minutes.”
The twins said they’re both in disbelief about the coincidence.
“I couldn’t believe it,” Renee Baillie said.
“We’ve just been laughing about it all day.”
Adding to the coincidence, Nicole’s baby Zavian Dacy and Renee’s baby Ruby Toole weigh only 200g difference from each other.
The Sunshine Coast Health midwifery team were thrilled to welcome the two babies into the world.
“I’ve never seen it happen and I’ve been a midwife for 18 years,” midwife Nicola Hamilton said.
