Gogglebox star Sarah Marie Fahd trolled for ‘over-cuddling’ her baby

Sarah Marie Fahd has had to deal with online trolls while being in the public eye — but she didn’t expect some of the comments about her picking up her crying child.

“Bad mum”. “Creating a monster”.

These are just some of the comments Gogglebox star and mum-of-two Sarah Marie Fahd had directed at her after posting a video of her picking up her crying five-month-old son Lyon.

Fahd posted the video to her Instagram page about how her son would begin to cry as soon as she put him down in his baby seat but then would stop when she picked him up and cuddled him.

On The Juggling Act podcast, Fahd spoke to Kidspot writer Melissa Wilson about the reaction some people had, where she was accused over “over-cuddling” and “spoiling” her son.

“A majority of comments were really, really positive but oh, the ones that were negative were seething,” Fahd said.

Some said she was creating a monster, she was accused of being a bad mum and was even told to walk away and let him cry.

But Fahd disagreed and said every parent should be able to decide how they comfort their child without ridicule.

“I’m not spoiling my child, I am loving a crying and teething five-month-old,” Fahd said.

“If your partner or your sister or your friend was crying, are you just going to leave them in a room to cry? No, you give them a hug.”
