Sarah Marie Fahd talks about her struggles with mastitis while breastfeeding both her children — and reveals how she’s feeling about her body post baby number two.

Gogglebox star Sarah Marie Fahd has opened up on her struggles with mastitis while breastfeeding — and how she’s dealing with her body changing after having her second child.

Fahd, who spoke to Melissa Wilson on The Juggling Act podcast, revealed she suffered with mastitis with her first child Malik, and then copped it again with her second son Lyon.

Mastitis is the inflammation of breast tissue which can lead to infection and often occurs in breastfeeding mums when milk ducts block, or bacteria enters the breast.

The mum of two likened the painful experience to having influenza, where her entire body ached, and she felt weak.

“I woke up with mastitis and it was like the stereotypical pain on one spot (on the breast), you can feel it’s hard,” Fahd said on the Kidspot podcast show.

“I had a fever. It was already to the point where I need antibiotics, it’s not just a blocked duct.

“I was shaking, I was so weak and I still had to look after Lyon.”

She had to take a course of antibiotics to treat it but said she was still able to breastfeed her baby throughout.

Fahd also revealed how she’s starting to feel more like herself after having her second child.

“Even my body, I’m not at the point obviously where I want to be. I would love to tone up and be strong, I don’t want to be like skinny, skinny but I want to be strong so I’m not there yet but I feel more myself,” Fahd said.

“I’m more accepting of my changes. I’m more curvy and I’m just like ‘you know what? I’m going to own it’.

“I’m just happier even on the days when it’s rough.”
