New hot girl walk club boosting female friendships

A women's transformation coach is hosting the first ‘hot girl walk’ this weekend as a way to boost female friendships. Find out how you can join in.

Sweaty dating trend taking over Aussie city

A Queensland bodybuilder is calling on the women of Townsville to join her for a ‘hot girl walk’ in an initiative to boost female friendships.

Danni Scott fell in love with Townsville when she visited for a short holiday from Brisbane and made the big decision to dig her roots in the tropical north.

Three years on, and she’s made herself a prominent figure in women’s personal training through her work at Maxinne Cochrane’s Shift Sweat Studio and newly opened Studio Sculpt pilates.

When she isn’t helping the city’s women to reach their fitness goals she is down at the Street University running youth boot camps and workshops.

If that wasn’t enough to fill the transformation coaches schedule, she has now taken on a new venture as a way to boost female friendships after she struggled to build meaningful relationships and find time for her mates.

“Run clubs and craft runs are great, but they can be so intimidating and not everyone can run,” Ms Scott said.

“I wanted something low intensity but they could still feel their bodies and get to talk to people and engage.”

The hot girl walk was a viral TikTok trend that was popularised during 2021 in the wake of Covid when women were pairing their favourite podcasts and audio books with walking to practise mindfulness and physical wellness.

“Female friendships I just cherish them so much and we don’t get enough time with life being so crazy busy,” Ms Scott said.

“I wanted it to be where anyone could come, bring your mum or your dog and everyone can make friends.”

“It’s just a good way to connect more and network and have this little community of girls.”

On Sunday morning the first installation of Ms Scott’s hot girl walk will take place on the Strand at 6:45am where everyone will meet at Tide Cafe.

All women are welcome, and Ms Scott is encouraging people to bring their mothers, best friends, children and fur-babies for a relaxing morning stroll and coffee.
