FARMER-OWNED and operated milk brand Gippsland Jersey, created by East Gippsland’s Sallie Jones and Jindivick dairy farmer Steve Ronalds, is now available in Melbourne at University of Melbourne, Coburg, Eastland and Carlton Farmers’ Markets.
The brand, launched last month at Warragul Farmers’ Market, was founded by Sallie and Steve in response to the current dairy crisis. They decided to bypass large processors to help farmers receive a fair price for milk and give consumers a clear brand choice to support farmers.
GIPPSLAND JERSEY MILK IS TAKING ON THE DAIRY INDUSTRY
A portion of profits from Gippsland Jersey will be returned to the Gippsland farming community, to support the mental wellbeing of dairy farmers.
Sallie and Steve hope demand for Gippsland Jersey will enable more dairy farmers to become suppliers.
