Fourteen-year-old Queensland social media sensation Deja Clark has announced her first solo business, cementing her place as one of Australia’s youngest entrepreneurs in the booming creator economy.

The teenager broke the news to her massive audience — 1.5 million Instagram followers and 2.8 million TikTok fans — in a Wednesday “get ready with me” video, where she casually revealed the exciting project while doing her skincare routine.

“Guys, I’ve been keeping a huge secret from you for the past, like, year,” Deja told her fans in the video.

“I’ve been working on something super exciting. I’m going to be starting my own business.”

In the video, the teenage social media star revealed she is launching a new business, Sunny De, later this year.

Clark described the project as a long-held dream, inspired by her vision board from 2023.

“I remember, before we even started Kalade, I wanted to have my own business one day. It’s finally coming true.”

While Clark stopped short of revealing the nature of Sunny De, she directed her followers to the brand’s website to sign up for updates, hinting at more announcements to come.

The comment sections of her posts quickly filled with speculation, with fans guessing the venture could be related to clothing, swimwear, or products tailored to her signature curly hair.

“Unfortunately, I cannot tell you everything about my business yet,” Clark added in the video. “But in the next couple of videos, I’ll be debriefing and giving you all the info.”

Clark is no stranger to business, having already been part of her family’s successful skincare brand, Kalade.

Launched in February 2024 by her mother Kat, a prominent influencer with 6.9 million TikTok followers, Kalade sold out its initial stock in just 10 minutes.

The brand’s name is a mash-up of Kat, Deja, and her 21-year-old sister Latisha.

Sunny De, however, marks Clark’s first independent foray.

While she admitted to feeling nervous about the brand name — a playful nod to her nickname and the phrase “sunny day” — Clark remains confident in her vision.

“[I was] second guessing the name of my business, because I told someone that they literally laughed in my face. But I think the name is super cute,” she said.

“I can’t express how grateful I am for you guys. I wouldn’t be able to do this without you,” she said.
