Harry and Meghan buy European home after being kicked out of Frogmore Cottage

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have set their sights on a European country following their eviction from Frogmore Cottage by King Charles.

Meghan Markle allegedly claims she is ‘one of the most bullied people in the world’

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have bought a new vacation home in Europe after King Charles kicked them out of Frogmore Cottage.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex snagged the property around Portugal where the Duke’s relatives, Princess Eugenie and her husband Jack Brooksbank, also own a getaway estate north of Lisbon.

The splurge, according to the Daily Mail, might lead to the Suits actress to apply for a Golden Visa, allowing her to access the 26 Schengen countries in Europe, including Italy, Spain and Greece, without restriction.

The couple purchased the new home more than a year after King Charles evicted them from Frogmore Cottage in Windsor, UK, following his youngest son quitting the royal family in 2020.

At the time, an insider told the US Sun that the 75-year-old king started the eviction process in January 2023, one day before Harry released his bombshell memoir, “Spare,” containing several allegations about his family.

“This eviction surely spells the end of Harry and Meghan’s time in the UK,” a source said.

Frogmore Cottage was dilapidated and used as staff apartments before the Sussexes moved in and underwent extensive renovations.

Harry and Meghan officially moved out of the cottage in June 2023, with Prince Andrew allegedly appointed the estate.

The pair – who now live in a nine-bedroom house in Montecito, California with their two children – stayed at the Windsor property infrequently, though it was their official residence in the UK.

However, they seemingly fell in love with Portugal after visiting the country last year after attending the Invictus Games in Germany.

They stayed on the Iberian Peninsula for a three-night romantic getaway.

It comes as Markle’s former bodyguard, who worked with her in the years leading up to the explosive royal rift, revealed what really happened in the tumultuous early days of the royal relationship.

He defended her against allegations she is a bully who has been given the unkind nickname “Duchess Difficult”.

Steve Davies was hired by NBC, the network behind television series Suits on which Meghan starred, to shadow the duchess in 2018.

“(I) felt sorry (for her) because she’d gone from being a celebrity to being a member of the biggest family in the world,” Mr Davies said.

“We had people following us around everywhere we went. We had problems with drones, vehicles chasing us. It was a nightmare.”
