It’s the end of an era on Gogglebox with fan favourites Kerry and Isabelle Silbery not returning to the popular TV show.
Isabelle announced the family’s departure after nine years on social media.
“It’s with a very heavy heart to announce that Mum, (my daughter) Ruby and I will not be returning to Gogglebox in 2025,’’ she wrote.
“Foxtel have decided not to renew our beloved show and although the show will continue on Channel 10, the three of us have not been included in its new form.”
The Silberys had starred with grandmother Emmie who last year went into a nursing home suffering from dementia.
Isabelle continued with her mum and daughter who was born in December last year.
“Nine years ago, I saw an opportunity to showcase real women’s voices across multi generations,’’ she said.
“Baby Ruby filling in for Emmie in recent seasons made it feel full circle. It has been an absolute pleasure sharing our lounge rooms with you all and cannot thank you enough for the love and support. It might be the end of an era but it’s also an opportunity for new exciting beginnings... #goggleboxau #threegenerations #women.”
Kerry said after Emmie’s diagnosis: “She’s the oldest Logie award winner in history. It’s the reality of life and half the people over the age 90 suffer from dementia. Luckily mum’s got the kind where she’s laughing and she’s a happy little camper.”
