Former Home and Away star Tammin Sursok reveals dinner date brought highlighters to itemise bill
She’s now happily married and a mum of two, but former Home and Away star Tammin Sursok has revealed she’s had her fair share of Hollywood dating nightmares.
Tammin Sursok certainly has her share of Hollywood dating nightmares to spill.
The Logie winner, based between Nashville and Sydney with her young family, revealed in a recent episode of her podcast ‘The Shit Show’ that one dinner date went extra lengths to ensure he didn’t finish the night out of pocket.
“ … I met my husband when I was pretty young, 23, but before that, I was there (in Hollywood) for about 2 years,” Sursok told her guest, Australian Idol host Scott Tweedie.
“ … I’ve always made my own money but I thought this was so gross, I had a guy, that when the cheque came he got a highlighter out in two different colours and he itemised the bill. He was the blue highlighter and I was the pink one.
“(It was itemised) to the cent, we’re talking like 0.68 and back then, I’ll be honest, I probably expected, whether that was right or wrong, for the guy to pick up the cheque.”
Sursok, who married film producer Sean McEwen in 2011, conceded that she wasn’t entirely sure whether her expectations would be the same these days.
The television darling went on to star in The Young And The Restless, Hannah Montana and Pretty Little Liars after arriving in Hollywood to focus on her acting career in 2006.
“I would probably just split it or maybe I’d do it, or he would, I don’t know,” she said.
“It’s actually a turn on for me and it doesn’t really mean that the person has to pay for anything for me, but it’s just a turn on – I like it.”
Not to be outdone, Tweedie revealed one love interest showed up unannounced on his doorstep to stay for a few days, before he eventually worked up the courage to end things.
“One of my best mates pulls me over (at a bbq) with the biggest smile on his face, and he goes, ‘you’re not going to believe this, she wrote a song about you on the beach today,” Tweedie recalled.
“I thought he was full of shit.”.
