Toyota Camry driver may have witnessed Ipswich fatal car crash

The driver of this blue Toyota Camry may hold vital information about a fatal car crash at Ipswich on Thursday.

A man, 23, has voluntarily attended Yamanta police station late on Friday after Forensic Crash Unit officers earlier released this CCTV image asking for public assistance to find the driver.

The blue Camry was travelling along East St in Ipswich at 11am Thursday. Police are continuing their appeal for witnesses to the crash to come forward.

Police also appealed for anyone who may have witnessed the crash, or who may have dashcam footage of the a silver Mercedes wagon possibly travelling with another vehicle in the Ipswich area before the crash, to also come forward.

A 36-year old man has died after the two-vehicle crash.

Preliminary investigations indicate, a silver Mercedes wagon was heading along Moffatt St about 12.50pm when it and a silver Volkswagen hatch travelling on Warwick Rd collided.

The driver of the Mercedes was transported to Ipswich Hospital, but died shortly afterwards. The occupants of the Volkswagen suffered minor injuries.

The Forensic Crash Unit continues to investigate.
