“The number of people who have been infectious in the community … is a reminder that we all need to take care,” ACT Health Minister Rachel Stephen-Smith said.
The ACT is under lockdown restrictions currently scheduled to end on October 15.
Meanwhile, the vaccination effort in the ACT continues to go “very well,” Ms Stephen-Smith said.
More than 92 per cent of Canberrans have had their first dose of a vaccine, and nearly 64 per cent have been fully vaccinated.
“However, as the Chief Minister and I have mentioned several times, ensuring that everyone has access to vaccination will be crucial to safely coming out of lockdown,” she said.
There were nearly 3000 tests conducted on Saturday, which was “pretty good numbers” for a weekend day, Ms Stephen-Smith said.
“So again, thank you to those Canberrans who are coming forward and getting tested,” she said.
“And then a reminder that if you do get tested, please make sure that you isolate after you take your test and not go out and about or go to the supermarket on the way home.”
