National Young Auctioneers: Lincoln McKinlay takes out top award
A QUEENSLANDER has beat nine of his colleagues to win the National Young Auctioneers competition at the Sydney Royal Show today.
A QUEENSLANDER has beat nine of his colleagues to win the National Young Auctioneers competition at the Sydney Royal Show today.
Lincoln McKinlay representing TopX at Gracemere in Queensland was named the winner, with Jack Hickey of JM Elis and Co at Hamilton named the runner-up.
Lincoln, 22, has been an agent for five years and has been honing his auctioneer skills at weekly store sales.
“I didn’t expect to win, it’s mind blowing,” he said.
The NSW Young Auctioneer competition winners were also announced today.
Hamish McGeoch from Landmark in Wagga Wagga was named the NSW winner and Sam Gemmell from Elders in Cootamundra the runner up. Both will compete in the national competition next year.
The auctioneers are judged on diction, manner, price and voice.
