The Weekly Times Coles 2024 Farmer of the Year awards nominations now open
We are searching for the best farmers from across Australia to be honoured in The Weekly Times Coles 2024 Farmer of the Year awards.
Welcome to The Weekly Times Coles 2024 Farmer of the Year awards.
We are searching for the best farmers from across Australia - those leading the way, who are constantly striving to improve their business, and finding success in their efforts.
So, if you know someone who deserves to be recognised as an outstanding farmer, let us know by nominating them in the form below.
Each week The Weekly Times will feature great stories of farmers excelling in their field, from industry stalwarts to new players just starting their agricultural journeys.
All farmers who appear in our paper, magazines and online during 2024 are eligible to win one of six categories:
BEEF FARMER OF THE YEAR
CROPPING FARMER OF THE YEAR
DAIRY FARMER OF THE YEAR
HORTICULTURE FARMER OF THE YEAR
SHEEP FARMER OF THE YEAR
INNOVATIVE FARMER OF THE YEAR
From the winners of these six categories, one farmer will ultimately be crowned The Weekly Times Coles 2024 Farmer of the Year.
Each category winner will receive $5000 in cash, with the Farmer of the Year receiving a further $10,000.
Winners will be announced in February and profiled in our special Farmer of the Year magazine.
Last year’s winners Nigel and Vanessa Corish from Condamine, Queensland, run New Leaf Ag Pty, and were recognised for their forward-thinking approach to growing crops, and passion for taking others along for the sustainability ride. Nigel is one of Australia’s first cropping farmers to run a soil carbon project.
