OLIVER Killalea says winning The Weekly Times Coles 2015 Beef Farmer of the Year award was a “morale boost”.

“I suppose it means we are doing something right,” he said

Oliver, 92, his son Tony and Tony’s wife Marg, produce 600 steers a year and run a Poll Dorset stud at Holbrook, NSW.

“Everyone’s a winner here tonight,” Tony said.

“It’s not a case of winning or losing. It’s about being there on that stage and being acknowledged for production techniques.”
