FARMING is a family affair for the Bennetts, of Lawloit, who have won The Weekly Times Coles 2015 Sheep Farmer of the Year award.
Alan and Donna, together with their children Ellen and Luke, run 4000 merino and prime lamb ewes alongside a 2500-ha cropping program.
“I started off farming with my brother and my parents and now Donna and I farm with my son and daughter Ellen and Luke,” Alan said.
“I think that’s the wonderful thing about farming, it’s a family enterprise. You work hard, we have our ups and downs but at the end of the day we are involved in a wonderful industry and it’s just an honour to be here tonight.”
