Geelong’s new farmers’ market has tripled its customers and doubled its stallholders in just one month.

The fortnightly Sunday market launched in October and has 25 confirmed stallholders including Otway Prime, Moriac Farmstead Dairy, Bellellen Grampians Organics and Manzanillo Grove extra virgin olive oils.

Market manager Don Linke has secured growers and producers from the Bellarine Peninsula, Golden Plains and the Otways.

“I always knew there was a hunger down in Geelong for a market,” Don said. “The word has got out with stallholders and they seem to be lining up.

“I have been at pains to try to get people from all three regions. There is such a wealth of small farmers and artisan producers.”
