Dairy Australia board: Josephine Rozman, Jeff Odgers and Paul Wood frontrunners

A former Elders director joins serving Dairy Australia board members Jeff Odgers and Paul Wood as a preferred candidate.

FORMER Elders Limited director Josephine Rozman is the frontrunner to replace Jan West on the board of Dairy Australia.

Ms West is not standing at this year’s election and Dairy Australia has selected Ms Rozman as its preferred candidate to fill the finance and governance position on the board.

The research body said Ms Rozman was an “experienced company director with strong finance, risk and accounting skills”.

In June last year, she was appointed to a number of local subsidiaries of the Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan, including AustOn Corporation, almond grower Aroona Farms, Bussellton Farms and Primary Growth.

She left Elders in March 2014.

Ms Rozman has 20 years’ experience in wine sales and marketing and served on the Wine Australia Corporation board.

Dairy Australia also has two other positions on its board that fall vacant at the November annual general meeting.

They are held by chairman Jeff Odgers and Paul Wood.

Jeff Odgers will stand again for the Dairy Australia board in November.

Both will stand again for the Dairy Australia board in November, and have also been announced as DA’s preferred candidates at the election.

Board selection committee chairman David Lord said: “These nominees bring a board set of skills and experience that will add value to our goal of supporting farmers today and the sustainability of the industry into the future.”

Other applicants who wish to challenge the three preferred candidates for milk producer, finance and governance and research and development positions must apply in writing by August 30.

Their applications must be supported by signatures from at least 100 Group A Dairy Australia members.
