AUSTRALIAN Fresh Milk Holdings has completed its purchase of the Coomboona Dairy in the Goulburn Valley.
AUSTRALIAN Fresh Milk Holdings has completed its purchase of the Coomboona Dairy in the Goulburn Valley.
Coomboona Dairy was previously owned by retail conglomerate Harvey Norman but was placed into receivership last March.
The sale of the farm to AFMH was announced last November for about $46 million.
About 2500 cows are milked on the property northwest of Shepparton, producing more than 30 million litres of milk.
AFMH runs Moxey Farms in the Lachlan Valley 340km west of Sydney.
It is a partnership between the Moxey and Perich families, with listed company Freedom Foods Group holding a 10 per cent stake.
Freedom Foods said it was using a growing proportion of milk from both Moxey Farms and Coomboona Dairy for its dairy products, including its Australia’s Own Kid’s Milk brand.
The purchase of Coomboona Dairy takes AFMH’s expected milk production for 2019 to more than 150 million litres, making it the largest dairy producer in Australia.
