Family of Rhonda Triguboff pay tribute to wife of property magnate Harry Triguboff
Rhonda Triguboff, the wife of property magnate Harry Triguboff, passed away peacefully on Sunday night at her Vaucluse mansion in Sydney’s eastern suburbs surrounded by her family.
The family of Rhonda Triguboff have paid tribute to the much-beloved wife of multi-billionaire property developer Harry Triguboff after she passed away peacefully on Sunday night at her Vaucluse mansion in Sydney’s eastern suburbs surrounded by her loving family.
The Triguboff family issued a statement late on Monday saying Mrs Triguboff, who was 76, would be sorely missed and had passed away after a long terminal illness.
“Rhonda was a loving partner to Harry for 44 wonderful years and a devoted stepmother to Sharon and Orna. Their bond was a testament to her caring nature and dedication to family,” the statement said.
“She always had a positive nature and brought a ray of sunshine into any room she entered.”
Mrs Triguboff was a much-loved member of the extended Triguboff family, having married Harry in 1980 after meeting him when she worked for Meriton in Sydney as an accountant.
She was passionate about donating to charities associated with children’s health, the wellbeing of animals and nature conservation.
She later made significant contributions to interior design and sales, becoming an integral part of the Meriton family.
Rhonda Triguboff was born and raised in the inner Sydney suburb of Matraville, and hailed from a large family of 13 brothers and sisters.
She was known for her kindness and unpretentious manner.
“She will be well remembered for her generous spirit, her devotion to family and friends, and her zest for life,” the Triguboff family statement said.
She often spent her weekends alongside Harry, driving around Meriton’s many apartment sites scattered throughout suburban Sydney, having taken a personal interest in his apartment projects and the people who worked with Meriton.
She also loved to travel to the Gold Coast at weekends with Harry, where he has also been successfully developing.
She was an avid golfer, patron of the Meriton Sydney Invitational Golf tournament, and a member of The Lakes Golf Club and the Australian Golf Club.
She also looked forward to attending the Australian Open Tennis each year, where she celebrated her passion for the sport alongside her husband.
Last year, she celebrated Harry’s 90th birthday at the Sydney Town Hall, attended by politicians and business luminaries including Peter Dutton, trucking magnate Lindsay Fox and the former governor of the Reserve Bank Philip Lowe.
Also in attendance was former coalition politician Bruce Baird and Charles Goode, a former ANZ chairman and prominent company director.
Mr Triguboff, who is said to be worth an estimated $26bn, controls Meriton Apartments and is Australia’s most prolific private unit builder in NSW and the Gold Coast.
He is also Australia’s largest owner of hotels, with more than 6200 hotel rooms spread across 23 properties in Sydney, Canberra, Brisbane, and the Gold Coast.
