Speaking to Fox League’s Jake Duke post-game, Walsh was asked about the impact new recruit Ben Hunt has had.

Walsh said Hunt has still “got some bad habits in his game”, which appeared to be a reference to a comment Flanagan made about Hunt last week.

“He’s (Hunt) a world-class player. He’s still got some bad habits in his game but we’re working on that. Seeing him happy, back in the Broncs jersey, I was watching him when I was a kid. It’s a pinch-me moment,” Walsh said.

Hunt played one season under Flanagan at St. George-Illawarra before leaving in the off-season.

In an interview with foxsports.com.au last week, Flanagan spoke about Hunt’s exit, saying his former playmaker had some “bad habits”.

“Ben was a good player but he was getting older and he had a few bad habits as well,” Flanagan said.

Hunt hasn’t responded publicly to the comments.

He had the opportunity to when he spoke with Fox League post-game but preferred not to bite when asked about Walsh’s subtle dig at his former coach.

“You’re digging for something there. I’ll let that one go to the keeper,” Hunt says.

“He (Walsh) keeps chipping me at training all the time.”

The Broncos’ new-look spine featuring Hunt, Walsh and halfback Adam Reynolds gelled against the Dogs when the three were on the park, with Brisbane outscoring their opponents three tries to zero in the first half.

Hunt said that he’s lucky to be in the same team as a player of Walsh’s talent, believing their partnership is working well.

“He’s (Walsh) been a pleasure to work with. He’s been in there every day trying to get better and working on his game,” he said.

Hunt and Walsh starred in the win, both setting up tries in the first half before being subbed off.
