In a devastating blow for the Parramatta Eels, star halfback Mitchell Moses has confirmed his season is over after suffering a suspected bicep tear in the dying stages of Game III.

Moses, 29, was removed from the field in the 77th minute of the Blues decider victory and was immediately seen pressing his right bicep while looking in significant pain.

Blues medical staff immediately assessed the No.7’s bicep and appeared to inform Moses of the extent of his injury.

“You see the look on his face there after the doctor’s just told him that it’s serious,” Fox League’s Greg Alexander said on commentary.

Warren Smith added Eels fans will “be hoping it’s nothing more than just a cork of the muscle.”

However, in a massive blow to the struggling club, Moses confirmed to Fox Sports News’ Dane Lillingstone that his 2024 was over.

“The bicep’s gone, so I’ll need surgery on that,” he said in the Blues sheds post-game.

“I’ll be gone (for the season).

“It’s been a tough year for the Eels but I’ll have to get this sorted and look at it next year.”

Moses played a starring role for the Blues, becoming just the third halfback in the state’s history to win a decider at Suncorp Stadium - joining an illustrious club previously populated by Ricky Stuart and Andrew Johns.

The Eels halfback crossed for a try in the 67th minute that all but took the game away from Queensland, and finished the night with 30 running metres, four tackle breaks, 546 kick metres and 17 tackles.

“It’s the best feeling ever. You dream about these moments and now I’m living it,” he told Fox Sports News.

Moses’ is a massive blow for the Eels, who recently appointed Jason Ryles as their coach for next season.
