Collingwood defender Isaac Quaynor made an astonishing admission post-game after the Pies fought out a draw with Fremantle on Friday night.

The Dockers stormed home but couldn’t get over the line as the final siren sounded with the scores tied up at 11.9 (75) to 10.15 (75).

While a controversial final quarter free kick stole the limelight, it was Quaynor’s confession that truly raised eyebrows.

During the final quarter the Magpies extended their lead out to 25 points with a little over seven minutes to play.

But the Dockers got an instant reply when Bailey Banfield marked on the 50m arc before wheeling around and nailing the long bomb.

Quaynor lunged in an attempt to get a hand on the ball and instantly put his hands up to the umpire signifying he’d touched it.

Replays of the moment didn’t appear to show any of Quaynor’s fingers snapping back with Banfield’s goal standing. Quaynor then opened up about the moment post-game where he made his bizarre admission.

“I’m not a liar, I didn’t touch it,” Quaynor told the ABC.

“But I was trying to claim it … I’m a liar to win a game, but once it’s over, I’ll be honest.”

The comments from Quaynor went down like a lead balloon with footy fans who were quick to call out the Collingwood defender.

ESPN’s Matt Walsh wrote: “I’m not a liar … Is, in fact, a liar.”

One user wrote: “What an odd comment from Quaynor. If you lie to win a game that makes you a cheat doesn’t it? Says a lot about his character.”

A second wrote: “I am not a liar … just a cheater.”

A third added: “So you’re just a cheat then? Interesting …”

A fourth wrote: “What a very strange thing to say … he’s essentially calling himself a cheat.”

The Quaynor incident came moments before a controversial umpiring call that awarded Fremantle a shot on goal.

Pies midfielder Lachie Sullivan was helped off the Optus Stadium turf, but as he stood up he handed the ball off to teammate Nick Daicos.

Umpire Mathew Nicholls blew his whistle and awarded the free kick to Freo ruckman Sean Darcy before explaining to the angry Pies players why he’d paid the free kick.

“He didn’t hand the ball back to me — he handed it to a teammate,” Nicholls could be heard saying on his umpire mic during the broadcast.

“He’s not allowed to do that. It’s a free kick, OK?”

Fans were left seething over the questionable free kick as the clubs duked out a hard fought draw at Optus Stadium.
