The shark that was trawling the coast over the weekend was the same five metre beast that has been hanging around Perth's beaches for the past week.
The same female shark was first monitored on May 11 in Albany as part of the Shark Monitoring Network.
It then triggered monitors in Ocean Reef on July 2 and Scarborough, Floreat, Cottesloe and North Cottesloe beaches on July 3.
At this time, the shark was believed to have come as close as 600 metres off the beach.
On Saturday afternoon it was recorded off Leighton Beach.
On Sunday it was recorded at 12.48am near North Cottesloe, then City Beach at 2.28am and Trigg at 5.06am.
