Seib’s seven to chase bumper day at Wagga Riverside meeting

By John Schell

Goulburn trainer Danielle Seib will be out to continue a strong run of form when she takes a team of seven gallopers to Tuesday’s Christmas Eve meeting to Wagga Wagga’s Riverside track.

Seib produced Xcessive Force to win at Goulburn last Friday and Nipotino to finish second at Moruya on Sunday, and she looks to have strong claims of finishing the year in winning form.

Debut runner Bide Your Time is the first Seib runner for the day at Wagga with Pierre Boudvillain, who will partner all of Seib’s runners, in the saddle.

Bide Your Time is a three-year-old gelding by Impending that has had three trials in preparation for his first start, the latest two being at Rosehill. He contests the Magic Millions Jan 2025 Super Maiden Handicap (1200m).

Boudvillain and Seib combine when Hellinda runs in the Congrats Brandon Lewidge Super Maiden Handicap (1200m) with the Hellbent gelding resuming from a spell having finished fourth at Wagga in February.

Urafiki will be the stable representative in the Huon Contractors Pty Ltd Country Boosted Benchmark 58 Handicap (1200m). The former Joseph Pride-trained mare has had two starts for Seib for a win at Moruya and a last start third at Canberra.

Downtown’s Abbey backs up in the Royans Wagga Benchmark 58 – Heat Of The Wagga Stayers Series (1800m) having finished a solid second at Goulburn last Friday when well in the market behind Brohm Lake.

The talented Associate is the Seib and Boudvillain runner in the Specsavers Wagga Wagga Ted Ryder Cup (1675m).

Associate was a winner of the Southern Wild Card of the Country Championships at Goulburn back in March and then finished eighth in the Country Championships Final at Randwick behind Asgarda.

He’s had two starts since resuming from a spell and hit the line well when third in the Nowra Cup at his latest start.

Seib rounds out the day with Perigean in the Quickprint Class 3 Handicap (1055m) and Master Of Disguise in the Terminate Pest Control Class 1 Handicap (1200m).

Both gallopers are coming into their events on the back of last-start wins.

Narrandera Cup king after another feature

Closing in on 50 starts, Prince Of Helena can add another feature win in the Ted Ryder Cup (1675m) today. Prince Of Helena has been a consistent performer with nine wins, eight seconds and 12 thirds from 49 starts. The veteran has won the past two editions of the Narrandera Cup earning a spot in the $3 million The Big Dance at Randwick. Trainer Craig Weeding is also a part-owner of the eight-year-old who has earned $415,423. Not a bad return on his yearling purchase price of $4000 and better when you combine it with stablemate Big Day Out (earnings of $280,000).

Ingelse scores another riding treble

For the second time in recent weeks, Dubbo-based apprentice Shayleigh Ingelse has ridden a winning treble. Ingelse achieved the feat on Saturday at Dubbo. Apprenticed to Dubbo trainer Michael Mulholland, Ingelse won on Epic Poem, Wandering Jack and Bylong at Wellington in mid-November and her Dubbo treble came aboard Autumn Song, Platinum Warrior and Charlie Magic. The Michael Mulholland-trained Autumn Song unleashed a strong run from near the back of the field to beat Mrs Bull and Miss Monopoly in a close finish to the opening event.
