Police dealt with the teens under the Young Offenders Act after 22 people were evicted during the match. Footage of the fight quickly circulated on social media, with young supporters wearing Souths and Roosters clothing trading blows.
“About 9.40pm Friday 4 April 2025, police and security at a stadium in Sydney Olympic Park were called to a section of stands following reports of a brawl during a football game,” according to a NSW Police statement.
“Officers were told two groups of people were involved in the brawl. All people involved were ejected from the venue by security. No injuries were reported.
“Officers attached to Auburn Police Area Command immediately commenced an investigation into the incident. Following inquiries, police spoke to five boys – aged 15, 17, and three aged 16 – at Auburn Police Station (Wednesday 9 April 2025).
“All five have been dealt with under the Young Offenders Act and released. Inquiries are continuing.”

South Sydney finished their clash with the Roosters with one man on the bench due to injuries, but came from behind to defeat their bitter rivals 20-14.
A bullet-like cutout pass from the returning Latrell Mitchell to Isaiah Tass for the match-winner was the highlight of the game.
Injuries to Jamie Humphreys and Cody Walker will result in Mitchell and Jayden Sullivan combining in the halves for Saturday’s clash against North Queensland Cowboys in Perth.
Souths are suddenly 4-1 after five rounds under coach Wayne Bennett, and will spend the next month playing in front of huge crowds: 40,000 are expected at Optus Stadium in the Western Australian capital, followed by a similar attendance for the Good Friday clash against the Bulldogs, 20,000-plus fans at AAMI Park in Melbourne for Anzac Day, then a sellout at Suncorp Stadium for Magic Round.
