Bathroom bling: Luxury loo for a buyer who’s flush with cash
By Kristy Johnson
Renovators of a coastal home have ensured that luxury extends into the bathroom.
The property for sale at 4 Reaby Street in Portarlington, Victoria, features a golden toilet in the powder room that’s attached to one of the two bathrooms.
A photo from the listing shows the snazzy loo elevated by rows of tiled steps and lit up by a string of lights. There also appears to be a Versace bin bag in the golden trash can.
Agent Greg Campbell, of Neville Richards Real Estate, has made the gold toilet the focal point of the home that has a price guide of $1,150,000 to $1,260,000.
Domain’s latest data reveals the median house price for a Portarlington house was $980,000 over the year to December.
“The stunning powder room attached to one of these bathrooms features an unbelievable golden toilet,” reads the listing for the four-bedroom abode that’s located on the Bellarine Peninsula.
The toilet, along with the bathrooms on offer, well and truly exude luxury with golden tapware, marble benchtops, gold patterned wallpaper and statement crystal lights.
Interiors throughout the rest of the renovated home include whitewashed walls, modern floorboards and top-notch appliances in the kitchen.
There’s also space for entertaining on an elevated deck that looks out onto a spacious backyard, and has views across the bay and Geelong.
