A man has died following an early morning incident on Monday at the Roy Hill Iron Ore Mine in Western Australia's Pilbara region.
In a notice to the ASX, NRW Holdings company secretary Kim Hyman said the employee sustained serious injuries and was flown by the Royal Flying Doctor Service to hospital in Perth but died of his injuries on Monday night.
"We are devastated by the loss of our colleague and extend our sincerest condolences to his family, friends and colleagues," the notice said.
The man was an employee of NRW's subsidiary DIAB Engineering, which provides industrial maintenance and fabrication services to the mining industry.
NRW is working with authorities investigating the incident.
