A Perth man has admitted to murdering his partner in an East Perth hotel last year.
Julian Pau, 42, was charged after police discovered Vitorina Bruce, 40, unresponsive and suffering from stab wounds in the corridor of the Quality Hotel Ambassador Perth in November 2022.
The mother of five had moved to Australia earlier in the year to support her family in Fiji.
She had been employed in Perth’s hospitality industry after separating from her husband and was the sole breadwinner for her children.
Through tears with his head in his hands, Pau pleaded guilty to her murder in Stirling Gardens Magistrates Court on Wednesday.
He remains in custody and is next due to appear in court on November 13.
Bruce’s daughter Seremana Tikoilautoka, 19, described her as “the most loving and caring mother” shortly after her sudden death.
“We are not good at all, it’s been a tough day today, we were shocked this morning when we heard the news about my mum, and we can’t do anything about it because it’s too late,” she told Nine News Perth.
“I wish she was here, just to hear her voice one more time, or just to see her face.”
