Convicted Neo-Nazi murderer charged after Supreme Court dock brawl

By Hannah Barry & Phil Hickey

The leader of a white supremacist group convicted over the murder of a Perth father has been charged with contempt of court after attempting to attack a former follower in the dock earlier this month.

Robert Edhouse was found guilty in the WA Supreme Court for the murder of Girrawheen man Alan Taylor on March 12.

Moments after the verdict was read out, Edhouse lashed out at former follower Corey Dymock and attempted to punch him as they were being led away.

The two had to be pulled apart by several security guards, and guards held Edhouse down on the ground in the dock as he shouted obscenities.

Justice Lindy Jenkins left the courtroom following the attack.

People in the public gallery of the courtroom screamed and cried as another man, believed to be Mr Edhouse's uncle, then ran from the back of the court towards the dock.

He too was restrained by security guards and a police detective before he could get any closer.

Edhouse will appear in the Supreme Court on a charge of contempt of court on Thursday via videolink.

Edhouse, his lover Melanie Attwood, and her former housemate Corey Dymock, stood trial in the Supreme Court of Western Australia accused of bludgeoning Mr Taylor to death at his Girrawheen home in 2016.

Mr Taylor, a fly-in, fly-out worker, was murdered on the morning of April 22, 2016 as he lay in his bed.

Attwood, who was Taylor's partner of nine years and the mother of his child, and Edhouse were both members of a white supremacist group called Aryan Nations.

They were found guilty of Mr Taylor's murder on Monday after a four week trial.

Dymock was acquitted of murder but found guilty of the lesser charge of being an accessory to murder.

All three will be sentenced in the Supreme Court on May 1.
