A vehicle towing a mooring buoy taken out of the Swan River has left a trail of destruction in Bicton overnight.
Police said the incident occurred around 11.30pm Saturday, when a black Toyota Land Cruiser driving along Kent Street turned left and swung the mooring into a ute which was parked outside a home.
The mooring then collided with a power pole, causing it to fall and the vehicle to tip.
Witnesses said mussels were all over the road, with the driver of the vehicle fleeing the scene.
A male occupant of the car, aged in his 60s, was treated at the scene and taken to hospital as a precaution.
WA Police are investigating the incident.
Road Policing Commander Mike Bell described the incident as unusual.
“It was being driven around the street,” he said.
“I’ve not seen a shipping buoy towed behind a vehicle before.”
