Infant taken to hospital in critical condition in Melbourne's east

Police are investigating after an infant was taken to hospital in a critical condition in Melbourne's east on Friday night.

Police have been conducting enquires at a property in Kilsyth, near Lilydale, after the four-month-old baby was admitted.

The child had sustained serious injuries, however, police are not yet sure of their exact cause.

No arrests have yet been made and the investigation remains ongoing.
