Woman with facial burns fights for life after Brisbane house fire

By Brittney Deguara

A woman is in hospital with life-threatening facial burns following a Bray Park house fire on Wednesday night.

Seven fire crews were called to the residence on Outlook Parade at 10.12pm to find the downstairs area of a two-storey home ablaze. The fire was under control in less than 20 minutes.

A Queensland Ambulance Services spokesperson confirmed the sole resident – a 45-year-old woman – was rushed to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital where she is being treated for life-threatening burns.

She was also being treated for smoke inhalation, according to Queensland Police.

The cause of the fire remained unknown, with a crime scene declared and investigations by police underway. A fire investigation unit would also attend the scene on Thursday.
