A three-year-old boy has been pulled to safety after a near-drowning on the Gold Coast.
Paramedics were called to a house on Old Burleigh Road at Surfers Paradise just before 9am where the toddler had been found submerged in a backyard pool.
He was resuscitated and taken to Pindara Hospital in a stable condition.
According to community awareness group Kids Alive, drowning is the greatest cause of accidental death in children under five in Australia.
