Crime scene declared after man found with gunshot wounds

A crime scene has been declared after a man was found with gunshot wounds west of Brisbane.

Police were called just before 11am on Saturday to Rocky Gully Road in Coominya, about 46 kilometres from Ipswich, to reports shots were heard in the area.

Upon arrival officers found a man in his 30s with gunshot wounds.

First aid was provided before he was airlifted to hospital in a serious condition.

Rocky Gully Road was closed while investigations continued.

Police believe there is no ongoing threat to the public.

Anyone with information or relevant CCTV or dashcam footage in the area at the time is asked to contact police.
