Woman burnt in northern beaches Molotov cocktail attack

A woman is in hospital with burns to her arms after a Molotov cocktail was thrown at her northern beaches home.

Emergency services were called to the home in Harkeith Street, Mona Vale, after receiving reports of a fire on a verandah about 10.30pm on Sunday.

Police said a 45-year-old woman had put the fire out with a garden hose before alerting authorities.

Paramedics treated the woman for what police believe are superficial burns to her arms at the scene before taking her to Royal North Shore Hospital. She is in a stable condition and is expected to be released from hospital on Monday.

Northern Beaches Police Area Command officers have established a crime scene at the home and are appealing for anyone with information about the incident to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
