Eleven guns and about $2 million worth of drugs were seized by police in coordinated raids on apartments and industrial buildings in Sydney’s south on Friday.
A 27-year-old man was arrested following the raids and charged with multiple firearm and drug-related offences.
The raids were conducted by Strike Force Raptor, set up to dismantle organised crime networks.
In one search of a penthouse apartment on Market Street, Rockdale, police found a 9mm assault rifle, a Smith & Wesson revolver, and a semi-automatic pistol among seven firearms hidden in a false air-conditioning unit.
The false unit also contained 7.7kg of cocaine.
In total, police executed eight search warrants at two apartments in Rockdale, and two industrial buildings in Botany, about 4pm on Friday.
At Botany, Police said they found four firearms, ammunition and bullet proof vests. They also found 1kg of cocaine, 1 kg of methylamphetamine and 25 litres of the drug GBL.
The 27-year-old was arrested about 6pm and charged with 23 offences.
These included supplying a large commercial quantity of a prohibited drug and numerous firearm offences. He was due to appear before Parramatta Bail court on Saturday.
