A woman and young girl have been taken to Calvary Hospital in a stable condition after a fire caused the partial collapse of their Crace home.
Five fire trucks, two ambulances and more than 10 police officers responded to the fire on Benalla Street in Crace around 2pm on Tuesday.
Initial investigations suggest that the cause of the fire was clothing left near a heater. Emergency services will further investigate.
It is believed the roof of the home has caved in.
ACT Fire and Rescue urge the community to keep heaters well clear of items that might burn. A minimum of one metre clearance from clothes, bedding furniture, curtains and other combustibles is required to make your home safe.
