Mitchell Starc, an uncomfortable star

By Tom Decent

Kingston: Mitchell Starc did everything in his power to not make his 100th Test in Kingston about him, uncomfortable with the adulation that has come his way after bringing up such a special milestone.

That was until he was thrown a new pink ball — and the carnage began.

Set 204 to claim their first win over Australia in the Caribbean since 2003, the West Indies slumped to 6-11 in 5.2 overs.

They were eventually bowled out for 27 in 14.3 overs. On day three alone, 14 wickets fell for just 49 runs.

Carl Hooper: ‘Heads should roll’ starting with Windies coach

Carl Hooper didn’t mince words on ABC commentary as he watched the Windies fall apart.

Remember, Hooper was in tears at the back of the box when this same side pulled off one of the all-time great Test wins at the Gabba 18 months ago. He’s called for West Indies coach Darren Sammy to be punted and Andre Coley to return in charge of red-ball cricket.
