The Hills Shire Council: What your candidates said
The Hills Shire Council, in the north-west of Sydney, is home to some key development challenges. And, more than any other council, candidates report being angry at the state government’s transport-oriented development program.
The Sydney Morning Herald sent questions to each of the 38 candidates up for election at The Hills Shire Council about why they are running and what they want to accomplish if they are elected. Of those, 17 responded.
Their responses have been lightly edited for clarity.
We asked candidates where they stood on key policy issues they’re likely to vote on while in office, and what they thought about the current state of council services. Click the below buttons to see the results.
