At Camden, on the outer south-west of Sydney, residents will vote for the councillors they want for the next four years.
There are three wards on this council, with voters from each ward selecting three councillors. The Liberals hold four seats, Labor holds three, and there are two independents. The council is currently led by Labor mayor Ashleigh Cagney.
The Sydney Morning Herald sent questions to each of the 31 candidates up for election at Camden Council about why they are running and what they want to accomplish if they are elected. Of those, 13 responded.
Their responses have been lightly edited for clarity.
