NT chief minister ‘shaken’ after cream pie attack

By Kathryn Magann

Northern Territory Chief Minister Natasha Fyles has been left shaken after being hit in the face with what appeared to be a cream pie at a market in Darwin.

Police are investigating the incident which took place about 11.40am on Sunday at Nightcliff Markets.

A spokeswoman for Fyles confirmed reports of the alleged assault but said the chief minister would not be making any immediate comment.

Footage shows the alleged attacker running up to Fyles and shoving the cream-covered pancake into her face.

The markets are near the chief minister’s electorate office for the seat of Nightcliff.

Fyles, 45, was left distressed after being confronted by anti-fracking protesters while taking part in a trail running event in May.
