Sydney FC fight off A-League newcomers to retain Ninkovic
Sydney FC have won the fight for Milos Ninkovic, signing their star player to a two-year contract extension.
The 34-year-old appears certain to see out his career with the Sky Blues after rejecting a multi-year deal from A-League newcomers Macarthur FC in favour of signing a new deal with Sydney.
Ninkovic's contract extension will run through until the end of the 2021-22 A-League season. There is scope to keep Ninkovic at Sydney beyond his playing career with the club eager to help the former Red Star Belgrade man enter coaching through their academy.
“I’m incredibly happy here at Sydney FC and very pleased to have committed my future to the club until the end of my career,” Ninkovic said.
“This club is a family to me and I have had a lot of support from many members and everyone inside the club in recent weeks.”
