The home
A contemporary two-bedroom apartment located in a historic development in Melbourne’s inner west.

Who lives here
Comedian and writer Aurelia St Clair, with their wife Tamara Natt, a writer, poet and digital marketer, and their dog Kenzo.

What we did
“Since moving in last year we’ve painted our bedroom a warm black called ‘Doom’ by Tint Paint, and the powder room in ‘Paddy’ by Dulux,” says Natt. “The carpet was quite drab so we replaced it with a light-grey one from Godfrey Hirst.”

Our favourite room
“The living and dining room, where we spend most of our time surrounded by our vinyl collection, coffee-table books and art,” says St Clair.

The ‘hood
“It’s vibrant, with a strong sense of community,” says St Clair. “We love getting fresh produce at Footscray market and rummaging through the homewares at Savers.”

Future plans
“We’ll update our kitchen and bathroom and increase the storage,” says Natt.

Best advice
“Set up alerts for keywords like ‘mid-century’ on Facebook Marketplace to help find the good things,” says St Clair.

“Our friend, photographer and artist Sean McDonald, gave us the best wedding present – free wedding photos,” says St Clair. The bed linen is from Hommey.
